Living ‘home alone’ is becoming fashionable

Gone is the time when the average household in the UK had the father, mother and 2.4 children. Research by GE money Lending shows 6.94 million ‘Home Alone Households’ comfortably out number the 5.8 million households where two or more adults live with children. Households with children make up 23.9 per cent of all UK households.
Clearly the ‘Home Alone Household’ is on the rise, with around 28.6 per cent of UK residents currently living alone.
People living alone has increased rapidly, research shows that in the past four years there has been a 5.15 per cent increase in singleton households. Which would mean another 340,000 single households taking the total UK total to 6.94 million?
Working singles have driven up numbers of single households with a 7.7 per cent rise in the last four years.
So you can be rest assured that you are not alone if you are living alone after your divorce, there are 6.94 million other people Home alone too.
