YouTube helps man win divorce

We all couldn’t wait to look at the YouTube video after reporting on this story from the Associated Press, so we have linked the video for you to take a look at what all the fuss was about.

Tricia Walsh-Smith was not a happy lady when she left the courts on Monday, after several months of reporting her case openly on YouTube where she was seen trashing her husband Broadway mogal Philip Smith, he was granted the Divorce on grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment. The YouTube clip has been watched over 3 million times.

The YouTube video showed a tearful Walsh-Smith lashing out furiously, she goes into details about their intimate life and also calls his office and tells Smiths stunned assistant the same information over and over.

Filmed from the couples luxury apartment, Walsh-Smith rants about how she may get evicted from the property and continues to go through a family album branding members of the family as nasty, evil and bad, this was all for the world to see on YouTube.

The Judge on the trial Harold Beeler called the publicity stunt Walsh-Smith pulled on YouTube as “a calculated and callous campaign to embarrass and humiliate her husband” it was also said that she had put pressure on him to settle the divorce in more farourible terms for her, she wanted more than their prenuptial agreement stated.

“She has attempted to turn the life of her husband into a soap opera by directing, writing, acting in and producing a melodrama,” the judge said.

The couple were married in 1999, 3 weeks prior to the wedding the prenuptial agreement was signed which the judge said was valid. So Walsh Smith now has to pack her bags and leave their luxury Park Avenue Apartment and has 30 days to do so. Smith has to pay Walsh-Smith $750,000.

Smith who is the president of Shubert Organisation, the largest theatre owner on Broadway said that “he was sorry it had to come to this”.

The former actress and playwright Walsh Smith was not so happy with the decision, if fact she thought it was disgusting and a real disappointment. She accused Smith of throwing her out on the street. Joseph P. McCaffery one of her attorneys said they will appeal.

Raoul Felder a renowned divorce lawyer had briefly acted for Walsh-Smith after she made the video said that she was acting out of passion.
