British Muslims to use Shaira law for marriage in the UK

Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, caused controversy earlier this year saying although British law should remain relevant we should consider what other members of the community desire, if you are Christian or Muslim you should respect others religions, a British Muslim should be able to use the Islamic Sharia law for marriage, divorce and other family issues.
The comments seem to have caused controversy within the conservatives and liberals who have been debating on the rising immigration to the UK from Islamic countries, and the perceived inability of the Muslim community to conform and adapt to other countries ways.
The main concern for the right-wingers in this augment is that although they are happy to support diversity and the rights of immigrants, the Sharia law is aimed towards the more extreme Muslin community and to bring Sharia or any other religion in would cause separation within the legal system in the UK for Muslims.
There are 2.6 million Muslims in Britain, and it’s said that many already live according to Sharia principles the same as Christians live under their guidelines.
Muslims can marry and divorce under Islamic law, they are also required to have a civil registry for their marriage to be recognised under British law, and a lot of Muslim women have married abroad and want to divorce in the UK, so if the law was introduced then Islamic weddings and divorces would be binding under British Law.
