Are women happier after divorce than men?

According to a report in the Independent which discusses myths that people apply to women and divorce, divorced women are far happier than divorced men, read on to find out why.
In the majority of studies done on who initiated the divorce, the man or the woman? it’s said that two thirds of the cases and in some surveys up to three quarters divorce was initiated by women, so according to the report generally men seem more happier married than women.
Generally divorced women are happier than divorced men, one study shows that divorced women actually felt better about the themselves out of the marriage, an increase of positive self image and self esteem inspired women to go on to better things and gain control of their lives, its also said that divorced women have far better sex after divorce.
Surprisingly men also come off the worse emotionally, continuous studies have shown the same results when both men and women were tested on emotional health and wellbeing after a divorce, and women are far happier after divorce.
One thing men do more than women is marry again after divorce, women are far more reluctant to give up their new found freedom to do it all again. It said men generally marry within three years of their divorce.
It is said that women are generally worse off financially after the divorce, although this is more to do with employment and that fact that generally men are the bigger earners.
