Billionaire Ron Perelman’s daughter refuses to see her mother
August 1, 2008 2:51 pm Celebrity DivorcesRon Perelman the billionaire businessman and his ex wife Patricia Duff, are having problems with their teenage daughter, Caleigh, 10, as she refuses to see her mum.
The marriage went sour in 1996 and the pair were only married for two years, they then went through a hard hitting divorce and custody battle.
Now Caleigh does not want anything to do with her mum and is not even answering phone calls, she is adamant she will not go on vacation with her mum, Duff is very upset that her daughter does not want to see her and has hinted in on the court papers that Perelman is turning Caleigh against her.
Rosalyn Ritcher from Manhattan Supreme Court said that there isn’t much you can do when a child doesn’t want to see a parent . Perelman and Duff recently re-opened their battle over Caleigh, a court-appointed lawyer for Caleigh charging Duff, subjected her daughter to “emotional abuse”.
Duff commented that she has not been able to speak with Caleigh and believes if she could communicate with her then they could start resolving the problems. It’s also reported that Duff believes that Perelman is trying to limit her access to her daughter.
The judge has told Perelman’s lawyers that he must not play a role in Caleighs visits with her mother, he is not allowed to prevent calls or physical contact.
Before returning to court next month, Caleigh has to undergo an evaluation. Duff is reported to be very upset by her daughter’s continues snubs, But for Duff to see her daughter under duress we can’t see that helping matters.
