Dark Knight star Morgan Freeman divorces wife of 24 years

It was only days ago the Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman was being helped out of his wrecked car after he was involved in a serious car accident, he was with a mystery woman who was later identified as his friend Dermaris Meyer. But now the 71 year old actor has just announced he is divorcing his wife Myma Colley-Lee who he has been married to for 24 years.

He suffered from a broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder damage in the car accident and is still recovering in hospital, said a spokesman for Freeman.

Morgan Freeman’s Mississippi-based attorney and business partner Bill Luckett said they are involved in divorce action and for legal and practical purposes, (Freeman and Colley-Lee) have been separated since December of 2007.”

The accident happened Sunday night on a highway close to one of Freemans homes he has in Charleston, Mississippi, the car swerved and rolled over off the road it was a pretty nasty accident, where both passengers had to be cut out of the wreckage,

An onlooker told Associated Press that he was conscious, very lucid; he was talking and still joking with some of the rescue workers.

Donna Lee, Freeman’s publicist said the Oscar winner would make a full recovery.

The Hollywood Stat won his Oscar in 2005 in Clint Eastwood’s boxing drama Million Dollar Babe as supporting role.
