New film about modern day divorce by Gabrielle Muccino

Gabrielle Muccino, the Italian filmmaker who directed “The Pursuit of Happiness” with Will Smith, is working on a new film which is a take on “Kramer vs. Kramer” but with a modern day feel.

The new film is to be called “What I know about Love” and will venture into the world of divorce and its destruction and also on what it’s like being a single parent. Similar to the 1970’s custody saga in “Kramer vs. Kramer”

Muccino said that “It’s the story of a family’s collapse, but with the complexity that relationships have today it’s a different world now, one that I think is more open and more destructive somehow”.

It’s been said that Muccino, who is known for his involvement in films about difficulties in romance and parent-child relationships, said he will write “Love” with “Sex and the City”

Will Smith will be playing a suicidal IRS agent in the upcoming “seven Pounds” release by Columbia later this year, Muccino will be reunited with Smith for this film.

Muccino’s other films are “L’ultimo Bacio,” which became the basis for the 2006 Zach Braff drama “The Last Kiss” and the middle –class drama Ricordati Di Me”.
