8:30 am Celebrity Divorces, World Divorce Stories

Todd Bentley the high-profile evangelist known for being the front man in a series of revival meetings in Florida over the last four months, which has created major worldwide media attention and has been broadcast live on GodTV, has just filed for separation from his wife.

Bentley known for his alternative appearance as an evangelist, covered in tattoos and body piercings, has been holding his nightly revival meetings since April in Lakeland, Florida. The meetings have created so much media attention due to the reports of healing and deliverance.

It has been confirmed by a former spokesman for Bentley’s ministry that Bentley and his wife, Shonnah, are headed for separation. The soon to be estranged couple have three children.

Both are Canadian citizens, so it is procedure to file for separation first before they start the divorce proceedings, this is under Canadian law.

A meeting in Birmingham, England, that was set for September has been postponed, according to the Fresh Fire Ministries website.

Bentley said in a recent interview that although he plans to continue his evangelistic work on the road, at the end of this month he would end his regular appearances at the revival.

Your article did not mention the vital point that Todd Bentley was exposed on ABC Nightline TV, The Report Magazine and The Sunday Express and The Sunday Mercury as a convicted child molester. In a phone poll 79% of Sunday Express readers voted to keep this child abuser out of The UK. Bentley said live on God TV that the British media could not ban him nor stop him going to Birmingham. The Sunday Mercury then exposed his British accomplice Trevor Baker had been to prison for dishonesty and they expected to make £4 million from four nights at The NEC Birmingham. The day the story was published they cancelled.
It is expected that the divorce lawyers will get a significant slice of Bentley’s $100 million dollar earnings from the Summer of 2008.

“Christians” who fall for the Todd Bentley’s of this world need to be put under a spiritual microscope and their faith examined. God cannot judge Todd Bentley without judging the blind fools who support him, without their following, he is nothing, he would just go away into oblivion.

As a Christian I say, Todd Bentley should be horsewhipped, tarred and feathered, and the I.R.S should investigate this conman.
