Figures revealed yesterday show that the UK divorce rate has rocketed 150 percent this summer, the experts are blaming the credit crunch and depression from long-awaited holidays.

Normally the largest number of break-ups are seen in January due to Christmas stress, But this July divorce was 40 percent higher than in January, which is a shocking 150 percent rise on 2007.

Relationship experts say that they are not surprised with the Summer figures, blaming Summer vacation’s for a high percent of divorce, factors such as spending money they don’t really have, finally spending more than a week in their spouse’s company when they are probably more used to 3 hours maximum, bickering children and the time to reflect sitting on the beach wondering is this really the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.

Not forgetting the alcohol consumption whilst on vacation, all these factors push for a sharp rise in couples rushing to the divorce courts.

We generally go on vacation to relax, feel confident, rejuvenated and get ready to make major life changing decisions at work and home most importantly to our relationships.

Let’s not hope that it’s not a plane journey back to divorce. Ifyou have filed for divorce after a vacation with your spouse, please share your story with us.
