George Lazenby bitter divorce and child custody battle

Once James Bond star George Lazenby was fighting as 007 now he is fighting his own corner in his bitter divorce with his estranged wife Pam Shriver the five-time Wimbledon doubles champion. The pair have embarked on the first stages of their court action.

Shriver started the divorce proceedings when she filed on the grounds of “irreconcilable differences” last month. Since then the pair have been throwing accusations at each other claiming poor parenting, in the court documents filed by Shriver she claimed Lazenby had threatened to kill her and was an abusive alcoholic who once gave their young children beer. Shriver also claimed that Lazenby had made an anti-semitic remark about Israeli government officials in restaurant in Los Angeles, plus that he has severe anger management issues.

Before the hearing Lazenby who is now 68 said that the court has already turned ugly over the fight for their three children. “It’s like someone’s trying to steal your kids and you can’t do anything about it.” He added.

Lazenby fault back at Shriver claiming that she was hooked on prescription painkillers and often drove her car in a drug-induced trance whilst the children were in it. He denied all the claims she is making against him.

Shriver was granted temporary custody of the children and imposed a temporary restraining order on Mr Lazenby earlier this month by a Los Angeles judge.

The 007 star is seeking for the restraining order to be lifted and for joint custody of their three children.

But Lazenby left the court disappointed as he failed to get the restraining order lifted. It is reported that the couple are due back in court on October 15, we will keep you up-to-date with this divorce case which looking to be a pretty nasty one.
