Collaborative divorce was invented in 1990. Its aim is to stop you having to go into a court battle with your spouse and to find a better way to resolve the divorce case.

I think it’s great that options other than litigation are available now, but I find it odd and somewhat disturbing that divorce is so rampant that’s there’s an entire industry surrounding it. I’d think with statistics like that, people would be just a little extra careful before entering into a marriage, but maybe that’s just me. I guess the good side is that I have some friends who do divorce in Arizona and they don’t have much to worry about financially, even now when most other folks do!
