Madonna Vs Guy Ritchie: McCartney Vs Heather Mills

Pop megastar Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie announced officially yesterday that they were getting a divorce. Madonna’s spokesperson said “They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time.”
Madonna is one of the highest earning female pop stars who is estimated to have earned 72 million dollars between June 2006 and June 2007.
This divorce will be one of the most high profile divorce cases since Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills which ended with Mills getting a £24 million payout.
Madonna is reported to have hired Paul McCartney’s lawyer Fiona Shackleton to work for her on the divorce, although it’s rumoured that the couple who have around a £300 million fortune between them will settle rather than fight it out in court like McCartney was forced to. It’s also hinted that it shouldn’t be such fight for money, with Guy Ritchie already having his own fortune, it’s estimated that he will receive £100 million out of the couples net worth, however most of the couples money was built up by Madonna she got together with Ritchie 8 years ago.
