Marriage and Divorce Calculator does it really work?

So what is all the fuss about a Divorce Calculator that is sending the cyber world into googling frenzy? Well basically over at Divorce360.com they have uploaded a short questionnaire about you and your marriage and how long it will be before you can expect divorce, with questions like, how old were you when you got married, what kind of educational background do you have, how long have you been married, when you answer each question you get a slight pause as it researches the information.

So basically the marriage Calculator or Divorce Calculator whatever you want to call it takes all your information, then throws out two percentage figures, one with a percent of people with similar background that are already divorced and the percentage of people with backgrounds likes yours that are likely to divorce in the next 5 years.

I did the test and I scored 7 percent for people with my background that has already divorced, and 11 percent of those at risk in the next 5 years, which basically means I need to get Fiona Shackleton at the ready.

However I wouldn’t take the divorce calculator too seriously, there does not seem to be any explanation as to where the calculations have come from, I don’t think this is something to lose sleep over.

Everyone LOVES a “magic crystal ball”. I just celebrated my 24th anniversary and the tool told me that 43% of people who matched my profile were already divorced. I didn’t get a five year prediction. I guess that means if I was stupid enough to hang in this long, there’s no point in predicting when I’ll go out or how many I’ll take with me. ;)
