Britain’s First Divorce Fair

Just as brides-to-be will be visiting the National Wedding Show in Birmingham this weekend and dreaming of their big day others who where not so lucky in love will be visiting Britain’s first divorce fair which is called the the Starting Over show and starts this weekend in Brighton.

Its said that the aim of the show is to help people bounce back from break-up. According to the Office for National Statistics the total number of divorces granted were around 144,220 in the UK between 2006 and 2007 and its said that most of these were granted to women.

The divorce fair will focus on aspects such as financial mediation, child support and break-up coaching.

Organiser Suzie Miller is expecting a minimum of 500 people through the doors.

    I went to the ‘divorce fair’ on Sunday and I thought it was really good. The whole emphasis was about helping and supporting people through divorce, which is one of the most painful things you can go through. There was a lovely atmosphere and some great workshops.
