Its said that the aim of the show is to help people bounce back from break-up. According to the Office for National Statistics the total number of divorces granted were around 144,220 in the UK between 2006 and 2007 and its said that most of these were granted to women.

The divorce fair will focus on aspects such as financial mediation, child support and break-up coaching.

Organiser Suzie Miller is expecting a minimum of 500 people through the doors.

We all know Alec Baldwin as the heart throb actor, but in his new book “A promise to Ourselves: A Journey Through Fatherhood and Divorce,” we see a different side to the actor, as he explains in depth the torturous divorce he had with his ex wife Kim Basinger and how the bitter custody battle for their daughter nearly pushed him to suicide.

They say don’t judge a book by the cover and in the case of Alec Baldwin goes that step further to explain to us the real person behind the glamorous image he portrays.

The book isn’t a tell-tale or a biography, Baldwin has written the book like a forum to discuss fathers custody battles discuss equal rights for fathers, it’s basically a way to have your say on the family law system that he calls a “disgraceful mess.” The book goes on to talk about how one parent can turn the child off the other parent which is called Parental Alienation Syndrome or PAS for short.

Max Sindell is a young author aged just 23 from the states, and after he lived through his parents’ divorce from the age of six, and then his father’s second divorce he decided to put pen to paper a write about it, in a bid to help children cope throughout such a tough time, as he did. He shows in the book how he managed to turn out as a happy well adjusted adult.

Sindell’s book published this year “Bright Side: Surviving your parents’ divorce” proposes seven points to help children to deal with their parents’ divorce, “Divorced Kids Bill of rights”, the number one most important thing he said is to feel safe and secure.

He also has a website named survivingyourparentsdivorce.com He was asked by the examiner if there really was a bright side? He told them “Yes, there is”.

He talks about independence and self-confidence, building companionships with step brothers and sisters, how he travelled more, and of course that he had two homes, two sets of friends, two neighborhoods and two birthday parties thrown for him, calling constantly on his own experiences as reference for his book.

The seven rights that children going through their parents divorce according to Sindell are: the right to awareness, the right to counseling, the right to be heard, the right to neutrality, the right to be your own person and the right to private communication. He also does make reference to the suffering the parents have throughout the divorce. Who said if you want to write a book about a subject you need to be expert in the field? Well Laura Dave’s new novel “The Divorce Party” is a tale about a couple that have been married for 35 years and their marriage breaks down, as well as another character, Maggie, who becomes engaged to Gwyn’s son, and also develops relationship problems.

The Story follows the lives of these two women, Maggie and Gwyn who are faced with the same question: How well do you know someone? When should you fight for someone and when should you let them go?

Laura Dave the author of “The Divorce Party,” is actually single, never been married, comes from a solid home and is only 30 years old, on a recent book signing, one middle-aged divorcee got upset when she saw Dave, saying that Dave had told her story and whilst she was reading the book she just presumed Dave was her age, and she felt swindled.

Dave’s lack of experience didn’t hold her back when writing; she interviewed divorce men and women whilst on tour to promote her first novel “London is the best City in America”. Although Dave said the character Maggie she can relate to more, but she was really interested in writing about Gwyn, what do you do when you realise you have signed up for life with someone, and then they turn on you, especially when you late in your years.

This year, Dave plans to move to Los Angeles as her writing has captured Hollywood’s interest. Dave will start work on a movie script with screen writer Gwyn Lurie. Jenifer Aniston’s production company purchased the rights to “The Divorce Party” earlier this year.

Dave has worked hard since her 20s, she moves every time she writes a book as she likes to feel the places she writes about, she has worked long hours trying to make end meet as a writer, Dave insists she will still keep writing even if the movie studios stop calling and people stop buying her books.
